Itβs Saturday evening, youβve just finished an amazing BBQ dinner, and your guests are craving something sweet. But the kitchen is clean, and nobody wants to turn on the oven to bake a pie.

Enter the greatest cookout hack of all time: Grilled Peaches.
If you are looking for easy summer dessert recipes, this is the holy grail. Instead of turning the grill off when the burgers are done, use the residual heat to make dessert! The heat of the grill caramelizes the natural sugars in the peaches, turning them incredibly soft, sweet, and smoky. Topped with a scoop of cold vanilla ice cream and a drizzle of honey, it is hands-down the best of all peach recipes easy enough for a weeknight, but fancy enough for a party!
π The Ingredients (The 4-Item Shopping List)
The magic here is simplicity. You only need 4 ingredients!
- 4 Fresh Peaches:Β (See my crucial “Freestone” hack below!).
- 2 tbspΒ Unsalted Butter, melted.
- 1 tbspΒ Honey or Maple Syrup.
- 1/2 tspΒ Ground Cinnamon.
- For Serving:Β High-quality Vanilla Bean Ice Cream.
π©βπ³ Step-by-Step Instructions (The “No-Stick” Method)
Step 1: The “Freestone” Peach Hack (Crucial!) π
When buying peaches for grilling, you MUST buy “Freestone” peaches, not “Clingstone.” Freestone peaches pull apart easily from the pit when you cut them in half. If you use Clingstone, you will destroy the peach trying to dig the pit out! Also, make sure they are firm but ripe. If they are too soft and mushy, they will completely fall apart on the grill grates.
Step 2: Prep the Peaches
Wash your peaches and slice them in half, right down the seam. Twist gently to separate the halves and remove the pit.
Step 3: The Cinnamon Butter Glaze
In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, honey, and ground cinnamon. Use a pastry brush to generously coat the cut side (the flesh side) of the peaches with this sweet glaze.
Step 4: Clean the Grill!
If you just cooked burgers or chicken, use a grill brush to scrape the grates clean! You don’t want your dessert tasting like garlic and onions. Lightly oil the grates using a paper towel dipped in vegetable oil.
Step 5: The Hot Sear π₯
Place the peach halves cut-side down directly onto the medium-hot grill. Let them cook for 3 to 4 minutes. Do not move them! You want them to develop those beautiful, dark, caramelized grill marks.
Step 6: Flip and Warm
Flip the peaches over (skin-side down) and brush the tops with a little more of the honey butter glaze. Grill for another 2 to 3 minutes until the peaches are tender and warmed through.
Step 7: The “Melt” (How to Serve)
Remove the hot peaches from the grill and place them immediately into serving bowls. Top each hot peach half with a generous scoop of cold vanilla ice cream. The contrast of the hot, smoky peach and the melting cold ice cream is absolute perfection. Drizzle with a little extra honey or some crushed pecans for crunch!
π‘ Flavor Variations:
Want to make this even more gourmet?
- The Adult Version:Β Drizzle a tiny splash of Bourbon over the peaches right before grilling.
- The Savory Twist:Β Swap the ice cream for a dollop of creamy Burrata cheese and a drizzle of Balsamic Glaze for an incredible summer appetizer!
